Kara Powell interviews author and youth evangelism expert Terry Linhart about the research behind his new book with Dave Rahn, Evangelism Remixed: Empowering Students for Courageous and Contagious Faith (Zondervan/YS, 2009). Terry Linhart, PhD teaches youth ministry at Bethel College (IN) where he also serves as dean of the School of Religion and Philosophy.  He has authored a number of youth ministry articles and books, and has been a key collaborator in our short-term missions research at FYI.

Kara Powell interviews father-son pair Mark Lau Branson and Noah Branson about working together to set boundaries on video games and other media. Mark, who has spent almost 40 years in ministry in churches, education, student work, and community outreach, is a professor of practical theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. Noah, the older of Mark and Nina’s two sons, is a church pianist and a university freshman, with a double major in psychology and music.

Dale Ryan Self-Injury Seminar

Recently Dale Ryan, director of the Fuller Institute for Recovery Ministry, led a seminar for local youth workers on understanding and responding to kids who cut and perform other acts of self-harm.  In addition to his work at Fuller, Dale also serves as the CEO of Christian Recovery International, an organization helping the Christian community become a safer and more accommodating place for people recovering from addiction, abuse, or trauma.  He has authored several books, including Soul Repair: Rebuilding Your Spiritual Life (co-authored), and Letting God Be God. This podcast offers both helpful insights into the "whys" of self-injury as well as the "what now?" we face when we discover cutting or other self-injury in the lives of kids we know and work with.
