What Paradigms Rule Us?

Yesterday a friend passed on this animated talk from Sir Ken Robinson about educational paradigms and how they tend to limit our thinking about kids’ potential and the ways to get at learning.

I haven’t checked out any of the research mentioned here, so I’m not advocating all Robinson says (though I’m curious to research more).  The point I appreciate is that the ruling paradigms tend to rule us.  The mental models within which we place our understanding in any given area (education, discipleship, service and justice, etc.) often constrict our ability to think outside the given boundaries.

So as you watch this clip, consider: be it learning or elsewhere, where could you be controlled by paradigms that need to be revisited or even shattered?
