This month we wrap up our series on “Hurting Kids and Families” featuring three resources that focus on hope and healing. We pray that these—and all of the resources in this series—will help you continue to make a real difference as you partner with God in helping kids who hurt.
Megan Hutchinson Interview
Brad Griffin interviews Megan Hutchinson, youth worker at Saddleback Church and author of Life Hurts—God Heals and Secret Survivors, about working with hurting and broken kids and families. Includes FREE DOWNLOADS from both books.
Bouncing Back:
Increasing Resilience for Hurting Kids
Why are some kids able to bounce back from deep hurts while others aren’t? What can we do to help more kids survive—and even thrive—in the midst of steep challenges? This research on resilience offers some clues, plus an interview with World Vision’s Michael Mata who shares practical ideas to help kids bounce back.
Making Peace in Our Families
Most of us have seen family conflict pass from generation to generation, but we often feel helpless to resolve it. Dr. Cameron Lee, Professor of Family Studies, helps us apply principles from the Beatitudes and “just peacemaking” to hurting families in our ministries.
P.S. — Check out our new video featuring Lina Thompson on our Certificate in Urban Youth Ministry page! Applications for the 2010 Cohort will be accepted through November 20th 2009.
