Smelling the Flowers – Literally

June 8, 2009

So this morning I was walking my three year-old, Jessica, to her preschool and she asked me to stop and smell the flowers with her.  Literally.

I wasn’t running late, but I was running right-on-time to get to Fuller.  And she wanted me to stop and smell the flowers.  So I shrugged and did (although I admit that after doing it twice, I told Jessica it was the “last time” – did I mention that I was running only right-on-time and not ahead?).

I love that children of all ages, including teenagers, help us see important glimpses of the Kingdom that we normally wouldn’t.  I rarely even notice flowers, but my three year-old does.  Kids have so much to teach us.
