This story came from Andy Baker, former youth worker in Kentucky and now a missionary with Word Made Flesh in Bolivia (http://wordmadeflesh.org).
Once a kid came to me and insisted that I take him into the inner city. When I asked why, he said that he had gone door to door asking for canned food to give to the “homeless” people in Lexington.
I asked him if he knew any “homeless” people. “No,” he said. But he had seen a place where they had been sleeping when we did a poverty simulation, and wanted to leave the food there so they would find it.
A few days later we hopped in my Subaru and dropped off the food.
