World AIDS Day
November 24, 2008
This month we have a new justice-oriented curriculum resource to share with you, but this one’s different. It’s not for your youth group. 1
It’s for their parents.
And for the adult small groups in your church.
Why would we want to to resource adults? Because their commitment to justice matters incredibly when it comes to fostering students’ own commitments to justice. In fact, one study reports that 70% of teens who are involved in activism say that their parents’ encouragement played a major factor in their choice to get involved.2 Check out this article for more insights from youth workers on engaging parents in your youth ministry’s efforts toward joining God in God’s Kingdom-bringing mission to the world.
We’re pleased to partner with World Vision and the Willow Creek Association to provide this free curriculum resource to you at the following link: http://www.willowcreek.com/grouplife/aids_day.asp
Whether your adult small groups tackle this challenging issue in conjunction with World AIDS Day on December 1 or some other time, we think it’s well worth the effort—for the adults, for the kids, for those suffering from AIDS, and for the Kingdom.
